ANIMAL ADOPTION
Please
select an album below to view the animals available for adoption. You can
return to the album by clicking the “show photo albums” icon at the bottom
right of the page.
When you have seen the pet that you hope will become part of your family
please speak to the Home staff who will discuss with you the animal and
whether it may fit into your lifestyle. If everybody is happy you can then
reserve your proposed new pal. A home visit will then be arranged, for which
we will take a fee of £20, which is deducted from any subsequent adoption
fee. If this is successful your new pet will be with you very soon. If for
any reason the home visit results in you not being approved to adopt then
your £20 will be refunded. Please don’t be put off by this – it happens
rarely and is in the interests of safeguarding our animals.
These are just a few of the animals that we have awaiting adoption, and of
course some of them may have found a home by the time you see this. Please
contact us to find out if any of these are still available.
CAT FOSTERING
We are looking for animal lovers able to offer time and love to our
kittens and pregnant cats at this critical time of their lives.
Every year more and more unwanted kittens are born through people not
having their cats spayed/neutered. The fact is that our home is overrun
with more cats and kittens each year, especially in the spring/summer
months ('kitten season'), when good foster homes are desperately needed.
Each fosterer makes a huge difference to the lives of these animals,
keeping them safe, healthy and socialised until they are permanently
adopted.
Fostering is the temporary accommodation of a pregnant cat or kitten/s
at your home. While they are under your care you will be able to give
them a loving home environment for the first months of their lives,
prior to rehoming by the RSPCA at the Animal Home. Ownership is not
signed over to the fosterer at any time. However both parties must enter
into a formal RSPCA fostering agreement.
Terms:
• Provisions: we provide all the essentials for your foster cat; litter,
food, litter tray, beds etc.
• Veterinary Bills: All veterinary bills are covered by the home. via
our nominated vet and procedures
• Backup & Advice: You will be given contact details for the appointed
co-ordinator and experienced person who will be able to provide you with
answers or at very least suggestions on what to do or who to call.
