VETERINARY CLINIC
Every Wednesday, at the Animal Home at Landing Lane there is a subsidised
Veterinary clinic held between 14:00 –15:00. Registering clients begins at
13:45.
The clinic has been
part of the York RSPCA since 1960, and is open to any York resident claiming
Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit. You will be asked to provide proof of your
current benefits at every visit and for
a donation of £15 to cover the cost of the consultation and any basic
treatment needed.
Routine vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, x-rays and any surgery,
including neutering, are not included in this service. The clinic is often
very busy, and appointments are on a first-come-first-served basis, so
please be patient if there is a long queue.
If you are on benefits and would like to see if you qualify for a neutering
voucher please contact the home.
The clinic is staffed by a qualified Veterinary Surgeon and a Veterinary
Nurse, and is administered by volunteers. If you could spare a couple of
hours, from 13:30 onwards, on a Wednesday afternoon, please fill in and
return the volunteer application form.
