DONATIONS
York
and District RSPCA belongs to the national RSPCA, but as with all branches,
we are totally self-funding. All money spent in York has to be raised in
York and District, and even a small donation can make a real difference to
the animals in our care. No healthy animal is ever put to sleep, and some
pets, especially the older ones, can take a long time to re-home. This means
that our running costs are around £1,500 PER DAY, and any contribution to
help us raise this would be gratefully received.
REGULAR DONATIONS
Please contact us if you would like to set up a regular donation which can
be done by direct payment from your bank.
SINGLE DONATIONS
Even the smallest donation is always very welcome The Government’s Gift Aid scheme enables us to reclaim the tax paid on what you have given us. Please make cheques payable to RSPCA York and District Branch.
STUFF YOU NO LONGER NEED
You might think it’s rubbish – but there are all sorts of things that we
can make use of. At the moment we need:
Blankets – urgently
Towels
Bathmats
Office Chairs
1 x Office Desk
Large Garden Sheds
Large Whiteboards
Please call the Animal Home on 01904 654949 if you can help with any of
the larger items.
EBay FOR CHARITY
If
you sell items on eBay you can now pay a proportion of your final selling
price to us. As you’re filling out the details, look out for the charity box
just below where you set your price. Search for York and District RSPCA to
support and the percentage (10%-100%) of your final selling price that you'd
like to donate. The minimum donation is £1 per listing.
FUNDRAISING EVENTS
The Committee and staff arrange a number of events throughout the year to
generate funds, including our ever-popular fairs.
We are always delighted
when local supporters independently raise money for the York RSPCA by taking
part in a sponsored event, holding a coffee morning or fete. Please contact
us if you would like advice or help to organise your event, or would like to
arrange a photo call with some of the animals when delivering your donation.
Committee members may be available to attend a school fundraising event
to give a talk to the children about our important work locally and
about animal welfare in general. Please contact Angela at the Animals’
Home for more information.
MEMBERSHIP FEES
Joining the RSPCA is a wonderful way to support our work. You can also make
an additional donation which will come to the York branch. Annual single
membership is £24.00, and helps to support the Inspectors and Animal
Collection Officers and support the work of the national RSPCA. Fully paid
up members are also entitled to vote at the election of National Council
members and at annual general meetings.
