JOB VACANCY – Branch Manager (General Manager)

Hours:             40 hours per week, 5 days out of seven with occasional evenings for meetings. 
Contract:         Permanent with six months’ probation.
Reporting to:  Board of Trustees (line management will be provided by board-appointed trustee or trustees).
Location:         RSPCA York Animals Home and retail units.
Salary:             £35,000 pa

RSPCA York, Harrogate and District branch is currently recruiting for a new Branch Manager (General Manager). This is the senior role within the branch, responsible for all activities, staff and volunteers. As such, you will have responsibility for the York Animal Home, our fostering and outreach programmes, plus retail and other income generation activities. We are looking for an outstanding leader with senior management experience, ideally gained in a variety of roles. You will share our passion to promote animal welfare, and drive changes to our operations that build financial sustainability whilst improving the services we provide to the community and to animals. 
RSPCA York, Harrogate and District is an independent charity although we operate under the guidance and values of the national society.

The duties will include:-
Working closely with the trustees to provide the strategic leadership and delivery necessary to ensure a sustainable future for the charity. 
Providing leadership to the staff and volunteer team to motivate, energise and enthuse, to seek continual improvement in service delivery and individual personal development.
Ensuring compliance with RSPCA standards & policies, relevant legislation and best practice in the provision of branch animal welfare services
Ensuring that appropriate policies and procedures are developed, implemented and adhered to in compliance with the relevant legislation seeking guidance from Society staff as required.
Working with trustees and contractors to ensure that our rebuild is designed, developed and completed on time and on budget.
Preparing in conjunction with the Branch Treasurer, the annual branch budget and company report; monitoring progress against branch objectives, ensuring that expenditure is within agreed limits and that income generation targets are achieved.
