Douglas came to the centre as his previous owner could no longer meet his needs. He is a great dog who is extremely active, playful and intelligent. Douglas is undergoing some further training alongside our behaviourist and will need adopters who are prepared to carry with his training. Douglas is a super smart dog and loves working with his people and learning new things, he is young and sometimes forgets his manners and gets a bit excited. Douglas is not suitable for a first time dog owner.

Douglas loves to play and loves his time out and about, he will need active adopters who can give him not only the physical exercise but also be able to keep him mentally stimulated. He has so much potential and really will make someone a very loyal and loving best friend.

Douglas would need to be the only pet in an adult only home.

We are primarily self-funding and the money we spend in York is raised in York and Harrogate and surrounding areas. Income is also generated by our charity shops in Goodramgate, York, Acomb and Selby.

Meet our gorgeous boy, Milo. Milo has really drawn the short straw in life, being bred specifically for his ‘silver colour’, and has now been diagnosed with the genetic condition named ‘Follicular dysplasia’ due to this. This means he suffers from skin irritation and fur loss. Despite this, Milo is the most special, fun loving lad, who loves everyone and everything he meets.
