About Keira

Keira is the sweetest girl who came to the centre via an inspector after she was found in terrible condition. Keira came to us from a heart-breaking situation of severe neglect. When Keira first arrived, her world was small, frightening, and devoid of any basic care every animal deserves. Despite everything she endured, there is zero malice in Keira,s heart. Day by day, under the care of the staff and our vets, Keira is discovering that hands can be used for gentle pets instead of fear, and that food bowls are always full. Keira is a sweet, resilient soul who is ready to learn what a safe, loving home truly feels like.

Unfortunately despite intense veterinary treatment, we were unable to save Kiera's eyes and sadly they had to be removed. Keira was in so much pain with her eyes and removing them was the last option. Keira is now pain free for the first time and is adapting really well to her new way of life. Keira also has a slightly deformed front leg that she was born with, this does not bother her too much and she copes very well. Keira is now ready to start her search of a forever home. 

Despite all the neglect and abuse this gorgeous girl has been through she has remained the loveliest, sweetest and most resilient dog we know. It has been an absolute privilege to be part of Keira's journey, she now knows what it feels like to be safe, loved and never feel pain again.

Keira will need a nice quiet home with a family who have a routine, she is still adapting to life with no eyes and she relies entirely upon her people to guide her and show her the way. Keira is a lovable girl who bonds quickly to her people, she is extremely loyal and will  love you with all her heart. She will need adopters who are at home most of the time while she settles as everything will be very new to her. She does not need too much exercise, she enjoys a couple of 20 - 30 mins walk a day over one big one.

Keira is great with other dogs and it would be amazing if she could live with another one. She is suitable to live with children aged 13 years and over.
