Volunteers are the backbone of this charity.

Here at RSPCA York, Harrogate & District we rely on our dedicated team of wonderful volunteers to help support our branch in many different ways. From helping in our four charity shops, to dog walking, driving our van for collections, or at our fairs, we simply couldn’t do everything we do without the most important element: YOU.

We are always looking for friendly people to join our teams, so if you have anything from a couple of hours to a couple of days a week where you’d like to join our crew, we’d love to hear from you!

We list all vacancies on our dedicated volunteering website HERE, but read on to find out a little more about the range of roles we have. We will update this page as more roles become available, so do pop back to check!

Retail

Our retail volunteers can be based at any of our four charity shops covering York (Goodramgate), Acomb, Selby, and Malton. Every single penny raised at these shops goes directly to supporting the vital work at the Animal Home and without our volunteers support we really couldn't do it.

We give full training so if you've never worked in retail before, we'll guide you through it!

We have two volunteer roles available in our shops: Volunteer Retail Assistants and Volunteer Donation Assistants.

Click below to read more about each role.

If either role sounds like something you’d like to get involved with, we’d love to have you join our team! You can apply directly here, or email the relevant manager via the shop page if you have any queries or concerns. We’d love to hear from you and at RSPCA York, Harrogate & District we work with a volunteer led ethos – so if you think there’s something stopping you volunteering, please get in contact and we can work something out to suit you!
