About Newt
Newt is a sweet but shy boy who came to the centre via an inspector. Newt was rescued from appalling conditions after he was found living in a squalid property along with a few other dogs. Newt was very nervous when he first arrived at the centre, he had been through so much when first rescued, he has now had time to decompress and we have been working hard along side our behaviourist to help him overcome his insecurities. Newt has come such a long way from the traumatised dog that arrived in the van, the staff have taught him how to play as he was even scared of toys when he first came to us. Seeing him grow in to the wonderful dog he is now is simply amazing.
Newt is now at a stage in his rehabilitation that we feel he can move on to the next chapter and find a loving new home, Newt will need understanding adopters who will give him the time and patience he needs to settle ion to a home. Although Newt is still nervous with people he does not know, with people who have taken the time to gain his trust, he is an absolute cuddle monster. He loves to lean in to his people and get cuddles which helps him feel secure. Adopters will get a meeting with our behaviourist before adoption to help the transition in to a home run as smoothly as possible. Potential adopters will need multiple meets with Newt at the centre to gain his trust before they can take him home.
Newt will need to be the only dog in an adult only home.
